IDEA Committee Members -

The search committee for the Associate Dean of Community Engagement and Health Equity invites all Baylor faculty, staff, and learners to attend presentations by the three finalist candidates during August/September.

This is an important step towards moving BCM's community engagement and health equity initiatives forward. I have sent you all calendar invites for the upcoming talks and hope that you are able to join and give feedback on the candidates.

The BCM IDEA committee is partnering with residents and students for an LGBT welcome event at Bar Boheme in Montrose. Please come out and celebrate!

Location: Bar Boheme (307 Fairview Street, Houston, TX 77006)

Date/Time: Wednesday, July 19th @ 7 pm

Drinks and light food will be provided! Please feel free to bring your partners and pets!

Good Morning IDEA Committee Members -

I am under the weather and without a voice, so asked Kathleen to cancel our meeting that was scheduled for tomorrow. Apologies for the last-minute cancellation.

I did, however, want to reach out to you all as we had a last-minute opening for our Department of Medicine Grand Rounds series, which is scheduled for next Thursday, March 2nd at 12:15 via Zoom. If any of you have an already prepared talk (or know someone else who might), I would appreciate your assistance in filling in this date.

BCM SNMA chapter is partnering with BMWC (Black Men in White Coats) to cohost February’s Dinner and Discussion. Each month, BCM's Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion hosts a monthly “SOM Dinner and Discussion Series”, highlighting different affinity and ethnic groups on campus. To honor Black History Month, this month’s event will feature influential Black physicians with impactful careers in their field and the Baylor community. Please join our guest speakers Dr. Chris Glover, Dr. Ronald Cotton, Dr. Jocelyn Greely, and Dr. Lindsey Jordan Gay in a powerful discussion, highlighting black excellence in medicine.
